BEACHCOMBER HOT TUB
We Americans are constantly searching for the means of improving our quality of life. We are more and more health conscience and seeking the most effective way to achieve it. A Beachcomber hot tub offers health benefits while simultaneously enhancing anyone's life.
Lounging in heated water expands blood vessels, which brings a penetrating soothing sensation to tired muscles. Because of the expansion, blood pressure decreases. At the same time, the body becomes more efficient in producing antibodies and increasing white blood cells which fight viruses and bacteria. A hot tub increases the body's ability to work at peak performance.
Soaking in a hot tub loosens joints and makes them easier to move ad keep mobile. The jet action allows a specific muscle group to be isolated and applies pressure to soothe painful arthritic joints.
Relaxing in a hot tub counteracts stress. As the body relaxes during a 20 minute session, it releases endorphins, which naturally give a sense of well being and happiness. This increases the ability to achieve a deeper, more restful sleep.
Health and overall well being takes center stage in most of our lives. Owning a Beachcomber hot tub is a promise we can keep to achieve and maintain both.

ON THE MOVE
If you are planting a new tree or transplanting an old favorite, there are a few "seeds" of thought you need to consider.
During the hottest time of the summer is not the most ideal time to take on this task if it is a deciduous tree in B&B (balled and burlapped). Consider an evergreen or a potted deciduous tree which are more forgiving during the high heat and can be planted with care. MARTIN'S GARDEN CENTER can help you make the right choices and consult with you on timing if you plan on doing the planting yourself. MARTIN'S LANDSCAPE SERVICE can provide the service and give you the security of knowing the job was done with the utmost professional consideration for you and the transplant.
There are some considerations for you while you patiently wait for the heat wave to pass:
Look into the future of the specimen you have chosen. What are the height and width of the tree at maturity? Knowing this, how close do you wish to plant it to your house or other structures? What are the possibilities of it interfering with wires above and below ground? How close is the spot to property lines and what affect will it have? Will it need full sun or a canopy of other trees to do its best?
Try placing a tall object such as a pole, ladder, deck umbrella or anything with height in the spot you are placing the tree. If planting a container tree, place it at the desired location. Observe its placement for several days - is it the ideal spot? If not, this simple substitute is far easier to move than the real thing until you are absolutely thrilled with the location.
Since this is not the best time of the gardening season for transplanting trees, the instructions for hole preparation and immediate care will be in the fall edition of MARTIN'S GARDEN CENTER newsletter.

HIGH IMPACT/LOW MAINTENANCE
In this day and age of high tech making our lives easier, could there be landscapes that offer this same guarantee? Though we cannot promise maintenance-free landscapes, there are materials available that do not make us slaves to our gardens, but make it a place where we can enjoy working and relaxing.

These plantings may not need a great deal of work, but will need some maintenance. Weeding is something no gardener can avoid, but mulching does cut the work. Routine checking for diseases and insects is necessary. Dead-heading perennials will encourage new growth. Make this less of a chore by making it a quiet time in your garden to pluck, clean and relieve stress.
THE TOOL SHED
THE BUCKET BRIGADE: It's best to have 2 buckets for your every day gardening. One can be used for carrying all the necessary materials and tools you need for your gardening and save a trip back to the tool shed. The other one should be used for the weeds and debris picked up along the way. Randomly drill several holes in the bottom and about 3-4 inches up the sides. This allow water and odors to escape. this could also be done with your tote bucket to allow air circulation and reduction of moisture build-up.
THE WALKING STICK: This is the best tool for that healthy, enjoyable walk for longer distances and for safety on uneven levels of your garden. For the easy-to-follow directions, visit another page of our RESOURCES link on this website.
BEETLE TRAPS: These are great inventions, however keep in mind that they attract ANY beetle and will lure your unwanted guests to your garden from the SURROUNDING areas. Place them downwind and away from beds and family-gathering spots to help reduce this invitation. Spray or dust with SEVIN found at MARTIN'S GARDEN CENTER for your insect problems throughout the growing season.
UNBUGGED: Take a trip back to the 60's to eliminate the bugs that bug you. Try burning an in incense stick while gardening. It is better than a sticky spray and smells far better. Placing it above the head keeps even gnats away. Choose a scent pleasant to you, because none will be pleasant to THEM. A blast from the past has a new purpose!
GRILLING TIP
Take your left over herbs and while grilling, toss them into the fire. This infuses those heavenly flavors with your meat or chicken main dish.
